I have a question. What should i feed my emerald green Cory catfish? right now i'm feeding him "Aqueon" bottom feeder tablets but i want something cheaper. thanks for any suggestions.

maybe a different brand of tablets or pellets, but either way theyll need pellets/tablets as their staple diets, just look online at the prices

Corys need a high percentage of protein in their diet.
A good quality pellet as well as other food such as bloodworm, bbs etc is needed to keep them healthy & happy

Short answer, anything they will eat.
Long answer, high protien pellets, blood worms, et cetera.

Thanks guys for the suggestions!

Yup... cories are primarily carnivorous, so if you are feeding them sinking algae pellets/tablets, that's not really good for them.  A bit of algae is, but not as a staple.  My cories do wonderfully well on "Wardley's Shrimp Pellets".  These are sinking pellets and the cories are in amazing condition (breeding).

As also discussed any 'meaty' sinking food will be good, including frozen bloodworms.

Agree with eaglesaquarium. Feed Wardleys shrimp pellets as a staple and it's like sharks in a feeding frenzy.

I use frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, and mysis shrimp along with shrimp pellets and a cory/bottom feeder wafer.  This gets them condition quickly and keeps them very healthy.  You can give them just a few tablets or flakes and they'd be fine though.  They aren't picky.

Sooo i have the same question and just figured id post on a thread that was already made but anyways i have Nutrafin max fish food but i'm pretty sure that floats as well as nutrafin betta pellets which i also think float and was wondering if those betta pellets would be good if they sunk.  Also i knew i had some shrimp pellets for my old shrimp but as i am seeing they are apparently very good for corys ( getting pygmy cories of my 10 gal) so that excites me that i alredady have some food now i just need to get some bloodworms from my LFS or internet and maybe brine shrimp eggs from my LFS.

Are brine shrimp eggs easy to hatch and what kind of setup do i need for them if i was to get them?

Are they shrimp pellets, because they are food for shrimp, or because they are made of shrimp?

its the wardley shrimp pellets with the corys on the front back when i was taking care of RCS i accidentally used them for the shrimp then realized otherwise

I give all my Corys bloodworms (Frozen or live) once a day, missing Sundays all together.  Sometimes drop in a few sinking High protein pellets.
They get enough so that there are none left after a few minutes.
