What To Do With New Ten Gallon?

so i hit jack pot at a yard sale!!!!! complete ten gallon setup filter, hood, heater, tank for a whole $15. the hood alone is worth $30. silly woman. so wanting to divde it up for male bettas. how many time do you think i could get away with? i have 5 males now and will be getting more. but i also have more ten gallons.

my guess is that you got it soo cheap because all her fish died from a diease and she wants to get rid of the tank. be sure to wash it out alot with non iodized salt and water.

lots and lots of hot water!!!! more then likely its been sitting in her garage for a while and she need to clear the space out.

I'd divide into 3 sections giving them a good 3 gallons each or you could buy some females and have 5 or 6 females with plenty of hiddy places. If it was me I'd use those craft sheets from walmart, report cover spines and some silicone and make 2 dividers to house 3 males, I'm sure alot of others will give more info.

Before you do anything- fill it to the top with water. Then wait overnight. See if it leaks.

You never know with used tanks....I'm sure it'll be fine. But if it leaks, best to learn now.

I wouldnt divide it more than once into 2 sections personally
