well as predicted my convicts have had fry. 2 pairs have about 150 fry in total.

i thought with having a plec, oscar, severum, 2 bala sharks, 3 chalceus and an RTBS in the tank with them they wouldnt last a day and make for some tastey food.

4 or 5 days later there all still here lol.

and i think theres another pair fanning some eggs.

im jus wondering if they dont get eaten..... what do i do?!?!

anybody with some big fish want some fry as feeder fish? lol.

Will your lfs not take them off your hands?

you could always freeze some in ice cube trays and feed them to your fish at other times.

pretty sure my lfs wont want that many cons, thats the trouble.

you could grow em a bit in another tank then feed em to your oscar. that sounds brutall.

there in with him now.

do you think they need to grow a bit before they look tastey enough?

anyone kno when the parents stop protecting the fry?

Yeah i think they need to get a bit bigger before the oscar can be bothered.

yeah I was gonna say, surley you have an Oscar to take care of that?! Maybe they're a bit small for him, give it a week or so I bet they'll be gone

could always list them on aquaauction or the like? I'm sure there'd be people willing to take them off ya hands.. and risking posting wouldnt be a big deal if they were only going to become feeders otherwise?

Feed em to a cat.... I wonder if cats would eat em.

Or take em to your LFS and swap em for other fish, or food, or somethin else for your tank\

If you just stop feeding your fish, will that make them get hungry and eat the fry?

I'd start calling places to see if any local store would buy some from you, or give you store credits at least. That way you know where you can take them if they don't disapear before they get too crowded. I think most non chain stores should at least "take them off your hands."

interestingly enought the parents will stop careing for them just about the time they are big enought to wet your oscars apetite, just wait, most will be taken care of.

well i have a cat so if i get really desperate ill jus chuck him in with some scuba divin equipment. :D

really hope my oscar gets a taste soon cos its stressful watching the lone father try protect his fry when hes not even in cover of a log or anything.

i kno having them eaten isnt very good lol but ill feel a whole lot better......
