Hi all,
Recently I had my heater malfunction and cause the water in my 20h to go to 82.4 for tetras and corys.
I have two concerns..
1- how do I lower temp?
2-Is 82.4 terribly unsafe for tetras and corys?
Thanks

Turn off and remove the heater (assume you have already done this) and let the tank cool naturally. try to make sure your new heater is in place and correctly calibrated by the time the temp drops to your target temp, or not too long after.

I agree to let the temperature cool naturally. While this is not an ideal temperature, it will not do harm short term.

82F is not going to kill tetras or Corydoras if it's only for a couple of days, weeks.

High temperatures cause fish to age quicker so tetras become old sooner than they would if kept in cooler water. Same with Cories and other fishes.
