It is nothing but a thin sheet of stiff plastic covering a generic fluorescent fixture; [URL="http/www.malcolite.com/index.php?id=9,4,0,0,1,0"]http

A 2 foot by 4 foot piece costs a few dollars. Cut to size with a razor knife or pair of heavy shears. Ends up being a dollar per top for the tanks you pictured, maybe less. They sell lots of these, people would rather replace them than clean them.

Seems that would be better than mesh for evaporation wise. My bettas breathe air so I would need to make holes for them. Too bad I don't have anything strong enough to cut it with

(i know, dont kill me) but I change all the water once a week so there wont be too much evapouration. Its not the way most people here suggest to keep bettas but its kept my purple guy alive for 3 years now without any diesease or illness.
