I started feeding my fish frozen brine shrimp about a month ago. Went on vacation for a week and when I got back, my panda cory had turned pink! He's not bright pink or anything, but he has a pinkish tint. I know that flamingoes and some other animals get their coloring from the food they eat, but a fish? Seems especially odd considering that the brine is only a part of his diet. He also eats zucchini and algae wafers. He seems perfectly normal otherwise. Oh, well. He's kinda cute like this. :wub:

:huh: Ooooo - strange -_-

How long you had him/her?

What were they feeding him when you were on vacation?

:/

sounds strange this one not heard of that before! any chance you can get a foto!

I think I've had him for about a month and a half now. The housesitter was feeding the same as I do- frozen brine shrimp and algae wafers. I'll try to get a pic as soon as I can.

If I remeber correctly from my days as a Zookeeper the pink in Flamigo's is due to the shell of the shrimps they eat not the meaty bit, I wonder if it could be Septaceamia (sp)???

Blood poisoning, it shows through the skin as a reddish colour.

Etymology: New Latin, from Latin septicus + New Latin -emia
Date: circa 1860
: invasion of the bloodstream by virulent microorganisms from a local seat of infection accompanied especially by chills, fever, and prostration -- called also blood poisoning;
