I am almost positive my fish are females. I've seen the egg spot and everything. But for the past three days, a bubblenest has been growing in my tank! I'm not sure if it's the water, my filter, or what, but I'm very confused.

If i have read correctly, female produce bubblenests too.

females will occasionaly build nests too. however, id like to point out that an "eggspot" is by no means a garuente that that the fish is female, some males (particularly young males) show a "false ovipositer". a clear picture of your females will give a better idea
