It's all over my java moss and my filter intake! What the HECK is this?? Gah!

Eew looks like some kind of left over chewed up food or some ugly fungus, all I know is I would get that out my tank.

It looks like the gunge that builds up inside the filter pipes.

I was thinking pink algae, which is not really an algae but a bacteria!

Or is it possible someone put something in your tank? Kids do the darndest things!!!

Turned your filter off for a short period of time recently? Like during a water change? Looks like mulm from the filter piping to me.

All those are excellent ideas, but I'm still not sure what it could have been. I got it out, thank goodness, and none of the cory seem the worse for it. The only thing I can pin it on is some shrimp pellets I fed them a couple of days ago. What blows my mind about that is 1) why did it take so long to cause the problem and 2) how did it come on so quickly?? I had literally just looked at the tank 5 minutes before to check on the status of some eggs. Then this! Frrrrrrreaky!!
