Anyone know what these are? I just noticed them today in my rear chambers......attached to the sides like cocoons. They are about the size of grains of rice.

It could be syconoid sponges. I got lots of them in my nano and I was astonished that they even attach to the Chaetomorpha balls in my nano.

If it would be those there should also be a few on the live rock. Easily to identify by their flagella that move water into their bodies.

Thanks dilbert! After your reply, I googled syconoid sponges and found a pic or two that look exactly like what I have.

Good to know they are no problem!!! I haven't seen them on my rock yet, just in the rear chambers.

Thanks again. :good:

Good filter feeders actually :good:

Check the underside of your rocks, they prefer dark areas ;)
