Hi everybody!
We've been looking for a new tank & stand etc. Now, we both like the Aqua One 620T but the fish shop man kept changing the subject and was doing his very best to try and sell us the new tall Fluval Edge. The one thing he said about the Aqua One is that, in about 5 years, he has had about 10 tanks crack. We liked the Fluval Edge but have read a few negtive comments on it since. We know that tanks can crack, we have had one crack in the past but we dont want to repeat the disaster with a tank that might have a reputation for cracking. However, we understand that some people have experienced welfare issues with fish in Fluval Edge tanks because of the small opening. We would appreciate any feedback, good or bad, on either tank from anyone who would like to help us!
Cheers, Sharkey!

The mark up for profit will be more on the fluval i would assume. Aqua one stuff is very good never even heared of one cracking

LFS will be thinking of ££££

That was quick!!
what you said was exactly what I thought, a new tank on the market and LFS trying to push it maybe! Thanks for your opinion.

*2 on BigAl's comment. PLUS you are getting a much smaller tank with the fluval edge. Doesn't compare to the AR620. One word of warning; think about whether you want the tall version of the AR620 or the normal height one. Even the regular is a decent depth. If you want to keep fish like corys they are better off not being in a tall tank, and you may also find that the lights on the Tall version dont punch down to the bottom if you are thinking of growing plants too (though Im guessing there and the real planters will correct me if I am wrong. Personally I find the tall tanks less pleasing on the eye than regular ones. You can consider the Juwel Rio 125, or Fluval Roma 125 as quite reasonable alternatives to the AR620 :) Good luck.

I consider the AquaOne to be a better tank and with potential for a larger number of species. The Edge looks pretty, but is not a great tank in itself.

On the other hand, I would also recommend that instead of a tall tank, you consider going for a longer tank because the height doesn't *really* give you any more fish space.

i have a third hand Aqua One....never had a problem with it x

hi
Thanks everyone for your comments, sounds like the Aqua One is the better tank out of the two!Any other advise on tanks is greatly appretiated.

Decide which species you want to keep first, then get a tank to fit them. A lot of people with smaller tanks find that they get the tank, cycle it, then can't keep the fish they want because they need to be kept in large groups, are too large, not compatible, etc.
