The rule of thumb for heaters is to have 5 watts per gallon of water. This means that a 25 watt heater will do the job.
It's harder to find the smaller heaters, so if you need to get a 50 watt, it would probably be fine too. Just be sure that the heater you get is run by a thermostat and is not preset at a particular temperature.![]()
