What Should I Plant?

i currently have a 60 us gallon tank with 5 goldfish in it. once those go, either my friends take them off my hands, or they die (seeing as their getting there in years), i want to do major decorations. lots of plants and natural items. what should i do? i'm mostly concentrating on plants. i was hoping to plant one half of the tank and do a rocks hide-away and wood theme on the other side. its definitely gravel for me. and they have to me moderate to lots of light plants. this is the first time i'm going with real plants and i plan to put either community or semi-aggressive fish in the tank, not sure yet. any suggestions on what to put in? plants or even fish wise? remember, i'll be starting with a blank canvass with only rocks at the bottom... so let the suggestions flow as well, the back wall of the aquarium will have a bubbler right across it, so nothing that will block that...
