What should I do?

The boy has a 5 or so tiny pinhole tears in various spots, and it looks like a piece is missing at the end of his tail. He is breathing slightly harder than normal, and I swear he is pale.

The only thing in his side of the tank is a cave and some java fern.

He shares a 10 gallon with another male. Should I remove him and medicate? Should I be worried about his partner?

I added salt just now, and the tank is at a stable 80 degrees F.

Sounds like finrot. If you've got a hospital tank, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to separate him from the other betta and medicate him with Melafix or something like that.

Thanks. Yeah, I figured, I was just hoping it was a fluke.

Okay, he is being medicated separately. I have no idea if finrot is contagious or not, I hope the other guy will be okay.

Edit: I just checked, look like the other guy should be okay. It is a filtered, clean tank, so I have no idea why he would have this.
