 Here's the situation! One of my guppies is pregnant and she looks "square." I know she's going to her fry very soon and I want to try to save the most as possible. I want to move her into my 2.5 gallon tank, but I have 12 platy fry in there from my pregnant platy who delivered a few days ago. I want to avoid moving the fry because they're so delicate and I don't want to lose any. I can't leave my guppy in the main tank, since fry never survive in there!

What should I do with my pregnant guppy? :/

The only problem I think u will have in putting her in with ur platty fry is, her eating some of them...My fish never stop eating. what I done is, I have a seperate tank for nothing but having fry...I call that my marternity tank...after she has all her fry, I put her back in the guppy or molly tank. then I remove those and put them in the fry tank... I know people say that with fry u have to be careful with what u do to them...But I have found that fry is alot more tolerant than what u may think. I hope maybe I helped alittle. Good luck

With all those restrictions the only way out is buy a new 100 gal tank for the pregnant guppy  Seriously though, there is no way to meet all those criteria is a breeding trap but these often stress the fish and cause her to abort the fry. I would let her have them in the tank, add lots of foating plants or java moss and then fish the little dudes out one by one...they wont break as mentioned above they are a lot tougher than wwe think. :)

100 gallon tank thats over the limit all u need is a 5 _10 gallon

i let my guppy have like four fry in the main tank then put her in a breeder net. and none of the four babies were eaten. they were swimming around with my platties.
