Ok so i have had my 10 gallon for about a year now.
When I first got i t i got some tiger barbs to cycle it.
I liked them and so i kept them.
About 9 months after i got the tank i got a red tailed shark.
Later on (about a month and a half ago) i noticed that my red tailed shark was chasing around my barbs.
I thought that it might just be that he is trying to defend his ship.
So I let it go. I noticed later though that all of my barbs back fins seem to be a little bit nipped at.
Just 2 days ago one of my three tiger barbs died.
What should i do? I have no reserve tank that i can put the shark in.

Is there anyway you could return the shark? What about offering him to a neighbor or other person interested in fish? Try to re-home?

Have you tried giving the shark to your LFS?

Your best bet is to rehome the shark. The problem you're having is that none of the fish are suitable for a 10 gallon tank. Due to their size and active swimming, tiger barbs need a minimum of a 30 gallon tank, the shark should also be in at least 30gal, and because all the fish are cramped, they are picking on each other. IMO only small slim-bodied fish should be kept in a 10gal.

Well today i put my 2 tiger barbs in my sisters 10g tank. All that it had in it was 2 little nutes. I hope that they don't die, their fins are so chewed. Now that the barbs are gone the shark seems way calmer in my 10g, but i might still try to rehome him at the pet shop and just get some gourami's or something.
