I m trying to breed mollies and guppies. I have a 20 gallon tank with 5 female guppies 1 male guppie 2 black female mollies i female marble mollie and a male black mollie. They have been acting really wierd latly. I am being told it is because i dont have the proper biological filtration. I dont have any live plants in my tank and im running a corner filter for a 10 gallon tank and a sponge filter for a 10 gallon tank in it right now. Should i be putting any other kind of filtration in with this and if so what kind. I have small fish in it so i took my biowheel filter out because it was sucking them up. It was a filter rated for 20-40 gallon tank. What would be the proper set up for breeding these fish in my tank.

Are you using normal tap water, or do you use dechlorinator (or something else) to remove the chlorine?

If you use normal water with chlorine in, then the chlorine will kill your good bacteria, which form the biological filter.

add 1 tsp. of aquarium salt in there...as long as its guppies and mollies(nothing else)

Read through the link in my sig. and test your water for ammonia/nitrIte and nitrAtes.
