For secondhand, looking to move mine on and someone has asked me to give them a price but unsure what to go for as wish to be reasonable but also feel parting in a good way!

depends whats with it stand lights etc

It would inlcude solid wood stand, tube lighting, heater, substrate, live plants and a small filter as they did not want set up filter (I think thats everything!)

Well I just bought a full set up (everything) which is 300l (78 us gal) for £170, Might give you a rough kind of idea!

a solid wood stand is going to really bump the price up , most stands will be melamine veneered chipboard/mdf. some can be bought with a real wood veneer but even that is much more expensive than a normal stand .

Thanks guys for the ball park figures, gives me something to go on!

Well I paid £100 for my AquaOne AR980 with stand. Came with light, and filter, which is part of the tank reall. 55 gallon. Bought from ebay via bidding. I think it was a real bargain so not sure if it's much help.

Personally, I would just consider the amount you paid( probably astronomical lol like most of us do from time to time) and then just think about what you would be more than happy with, I mean personally for that size tank with what you have £250 Id bite your arm off, even 300 it is a bargain at the size it is.

Best of luck selling

Paul

Thanks so much for all the input guys, really really appreciate it. Ive decided about £200 as an ideal price and did have one guy interested though since mentioning this sum havent heard anything yet...

I would have it off you in a second at £200!!! Shame Im close but not close enough as I don't drive!! grrrr

Generally speaking, I only pay $1 a gallon for a used tank if it's large. As for the stand, it would depend on what it was made from, the construction and finish, and it's general condition.

I look at used tanks in the $1 to $1.50 per gallon range when I buy used in good condition. The stand almost never matters because so many are decoration only and I build my own as solid as a rock. Filters and such are a nice bonus but I won't pay much more for a tank with one than for the same tank without one. Decoration make good items for me to sell at fish auctions because no 2 people like the same decor. Sometimes I can get a trivial amount for decor at a fish auction, it is enough to be worth bringing it but not enough to pay for.
