I have just got a gorgeous java fern on some bogwood for my betta 30l biorb which he seems to be loving at the moment, but I'd like another plant in there to give him a bit more hiding space (especially as I'm going to try a few ghost shrimp with him in a bit...)

I have some mossballs in there as well, but have heard bettas like planted tanks. As I have a biorb substrate is obviously a problem, hence why I've gone down the bogwood route, however, would this plant

be suitable? (for those not wanting to click the link its chlorophytum bichetii established on bogwood.

Thanks in advance for your help!

im sure thats a normal household plant

if so be careful, sometimes they rot bad!

can u put a nice substrate underneath your bio orb substrate so you can plant something?

It looks like a houseplant to me too. It looks nice but would soon decompose in the water if it is.

Ah okay! I shall stick with the java fern then, or maybe some dwarf anubias?

Just double checked and it is a member of the household spider plant family. Personally I wouldn't use it as if it does deteriorate you will have all the mess to clear out of your tank.
