hi im just wondering what other species of fish do you keep with your angels.
Im only asking this as my mum was looking in to my 4foot tank and said you need a few colourful fish

Corys & various plecs, platys & swords, a few gourami, & probably a few I'm forgetting.

I have firemouths and heckili cichlid wise, catfish in the form on a syno, bulldog and ansistrus and I also have a few black neons.

i've just got a tank, its cycling at the moment. its a 20gallon i think, 20''x14''x21'' and i'd really like to get an angelfish and some tank mates.

I was thinking of getting three dianos, a dwarf gouramis and something yellow?. would my tank be overcrowded and would there be any conflict?

The danios need to be in bigger groups (6-8) otherwise there is a risk of aggression problems. For something yellow- how about some platies? Personally, I think I'd go for something a bit less fragile than a dwarf gourami, all the ones I see these days seem to be in a state of nearly complete collapse.

i just really like the colouring of the dwarf gouramis - and it doesn't get too big. is it not really a begginer fish for a young aquarium?

they can be very sensitive, so I would say this is one for when the tank is mature. Also, it is a good idea if you can quarantine it as they often carry parasites or bacteria.
