I did a water change out of our main tank today and as I was scooping out the water a little bit at a time looking for fry, I noticed there were these very very thin reddish looking worms.
It's definitely not planaria...
They're extremely skinny.. like thinner than a piece of hair and less than a half an inch long.

What on earth are these things? They don't seem to be parasites as I've not seen anything on my fish, or fish acting strange (sscratching, darting etc etc) that would indicate something was on them.

We did used to feed my cory cubes of dried tubifex worms, but I wouldn't think it would be possible for some eggs or something to have survived processing and all that right?

We have had these. When we clean the gravel they go all over and our fish and frog love eating them. The fish will chase them. We feed the the fish and frog frozen bloodworms.

No live food, just freeze dried bloodworms and the tubifex cubes.
We have added new plants.. I guess they could've gotten in with them.
So they're not harmful though right?

Dosn't sound like it probably come in with the plants.
