A few days ago one of my cories blew eggs onto the wall of the tank. I have a 10 gallon set up for different things and so I carefully scraped them off the glass and put them in the 10 gallon. They usually don't ever hatch babies, but I keep trying. I have had a few babies over the years.
So anyway, I go to check the eggs the this morning and I thought I saw movement. So I am thinking an egg is trying to hatch maybe. I get my phones camera on it to get really up close to the eggs, just to see if I can see what is going on.

I was not expecting to see this. I didn't even notice them until the camera pulled it all in so close. What on earth are those things?

I have not added any new fish to my 75 gallon in 2 years. So it didn't come in with new fish. I have not added any new plants in probably 10 years. So it didn't come in on a new plant. Whatever it is was born, or whatever, in the 75 gallon.

I have a video and a picture. What on earth??

But where did they come from? How did they get in the tank with nothing being added for them to hitch hike in on?

I guess I am going to empty this 10 gallon and clean it out and refill it with fresh water and start again. I just don't understand how these thing just materialized out of nowhere
I have never seen them in the 75 gallon.

A leprechaun placed them there.

I have emptied the 10 gallon, washed it out with hot water, and it is sitting on the front porch in the sun. That should take care of whatever the little critters are that were eating the eggs. I will start over with that tank.

They are always there.

I started from scratch a shrimp only tank 2 months ago, treated the plants with peroxide...

And still have today seed shrimps, amphipods, worms, snails, hydras... And This week planaria appeared. And besides seed shrimps, they are not coming from my established tank... New snails and planaria came with the plants and resisted a solid wash.

They’re one of those aquatic organisms that are just there . I think it’s a good thing when they show up because that tells me that the aquarium is healthy . It supports all kinds of life .
