Hi, I've just ordered offline some of the betta hikari pellets, in the past and currently i've been feeding a brand of pellets that my lfs does but i'm thinking the proper betta pellets will be much better?
What makes the betta hikari pellets better than the usual tropical pellets?

well that depends on the brand. you should be able to compare ingredients and at least some nutritional info by reading the back of the packet.

My LFS recently recommended Hikari betta food. They said something about them using "human grade" products in the food.

Reading the packet it says...

A Diet Developed Especially For Bettas
Excellent Nutrient Offering
Never Clouds The Water
Floating Pellet

it utilize's Bio-Technology to promote excellent colouration while meeting the nutritional needs of your pet.

Apparently its the worlds best selling Betta food :)

:D

My bettas love it :D

I have been Using Hikari Feeds Exclusively for the last 4 years. I would never go back to any other brand.
I have seen amazing health in my fish with this brand.
The Betta Food is great, really does promote excellent colors in the fish and the size of the pellets is great.
For the Giants I used the Cichlid Gold Supreme as these were larger and more nutritional.

The betta food came, wish i'd ordered a few packets now lol as there isnt much there. But i guess its probably a good brand and you dont get much for your money lol! :D Will try the fish on them later! :good:

the packets dont seem like much but they really do last for ages. ive had a packet for like 4 moths with 3 bettas. each boy gets 3-4 pellets a day.
have fun with your fishes.
cheers

It should last around 3 months, my 4 eat like Pigs! lol :D They get about 6 a day. :)
Still got load left, brought it last month.

Alphie wouldnt eat the pellets yesterday but today he managed to eat 5 and loves them :D i might just feed them alphie as 40% of my girls are small and when attempted yesterday they couldnt fit the pellet in their mouths :(

Hikari is an excellent brand of fish foods. My betta likes their sinking wafers that I put in for the C. sterbai he shares the tank with. :D

2 of my boys don't really seeem to like HIkari betta pellets.. Im not sure if it is because they are too hard to eat but they always end up spitting them out after "chewing" for a few seconds.

Ive noticed Oscar now does that, he has been doing that for the past few days, but gets there in the end.
Try keeping it soaked in a seperate container of water and then half it. :)

I have found that my girls just wolf them down where as two of my boys do get them chomp on them for a mo spit them back out and then once they all gone from the surface they will go find them on the bottom so i supose its just like people, we all like different things and have different eating habbits!
