i have had bad experience using tap water even when treating it. also found that the water in my area contains chloramine which they say its even worse the chlorine and also has to be treated. now im just using spring water for a betta in a vase, but i want to start using a tank that i think is about 10 gallon and it seems like an expensive tway o fill it with spring water. maybe i could use drinking water or distilled water if its better than the top water and i guess cheaper than the spring water. i really dont trust using tap water for the many negatives i find about it. also i want to ask about using tanks with no undergravel filter, how u change the water and how much, or if it needs to be changed completely, this it could be a real inconvenience. thanks for any responses.

Do a google search for water conditioner. Removes chlorine, chloramine and dissolved metals.

ya just use a good conditioner that take all that out and it will be fine, i use Aquaplus or somthing...

as for water changes, just remove about 20% (2 inches of a 10 inch high tank)
of the water weekly, and replace it with fresh conditioned water.. simple :hyper:
