What Kind Of Plants?

I'm currently setting up a 28 gallon to feature 2 angels and 3 gouramis (also some cories and tetras).

I have considered doing a planted tank, as in the past I've only used fake plants. However I have no clue about how to begin.

Any suggestions on the type of plants I should use? I didn't know if they would be fish specific or not?
