I have just got a 19L Fluval Chi just as a little tank for my bedroom, and im looking for a semi aquatic plant that i could keep in the little pot at the top. The roots would be submerged and about an inch of the plant, other than that it would need to survive out of water in very low light?

Any anubias would do fine in this.

Peace lilies of the genus Spatiphyllum could survive in low light with roots submerged underwater. South American members of the genus Arum could also survive semi-aquatic conditions in low light. Dracaena fragrans could also tolerate low light conditions with roots submerged but they tend to grow tall.

Several ferns would also love this arrangement.

Have a google for riparium and palludrium plants.
