I bought 5 of these little guys on the weekend but have forgotten what they're called...
Would someone be so kind as to educate me please?

I think.
But my cichlid knowledge is pants to say the least.....

A stressed ram but don't think it is the gold morph but the blue -

A stressed ram? Do you mean that literally?
Wouldn't surprise me - only was added to the tank a day ago... What's the best way to de-stress them?

thats definatly a blue (german) ram just not showing the trade mark blue colours, the golds are straight gold no black, it should start showing blue 2 to 3 days after being introduced but depends on the age of the ram it took mine up to 3 months to show its full colours. just keep a eye on it cause the are sensitive to water quality and change hope that helps

they like a low ph about 6 but will handle 7. as long as you have plants they'll be fine, they eat flake dry foods and brine shrimp will get their colours showing real nice and the only live for about 2 years
