I would like to add an algy eater to my tank, and I'm not sure what kind would go best. It's a 10 gallon with 4 fancy tailed guppies, and 2 cory cats. Anny sugestions?

I've got a borneo sucker in my tank; I'm not sure whether they're related to catfish or not, as they only bear the slightest similarities to sucking species of them, and they use their entire bodies, which are shaped a bit like a marine skate or flat-bodied shark, to cling to the glass, somewhat like a snail. I find them to be incredibly good - they don't just remove algae, but also eat things like hydrai, which can quickly overrun tanks by settling on th undersides and sides of plants and aquarium objects like heaters and filters. They don't tend to travel on gravel, though - either you need large, smooth rocks for them to cling to in order to rid the bottom of algae, or they'll stay predominantly on the glass.

Have you thought of an apple snail? I have one of these in each of my tanks and they seem to do a fairly decent job of keeping the glass clean, although I still have to rub down my ornaments every now and then. They are surprisingly lively.

i'd say go for snails aswell. i think your 10g is stocked enough and more fishes should not be added.

I have tried apple snails. My watter dosn't have enough calcieum to support them. I'm a little tight on money so I can't buy another snail and a calcuim supplement. thanx though.
