I’ve never seen this before in my tanks and it just started growing in my planted 55 gallon tank. It’s not spreading at an overly alarming rate but it’s still really gross. Looks like a plasma or slime. It’s only on the sand.

That's cyanobacteria, aka blue-green algae

I'm usually ok with algae but that looks sick... Like a bad sick, gross sick. I have no idea what type of anything that is!

100% Blue-green cyanobacteria.

Large water changes will help get rid of it. Spot remove it.

It looks like transparent slime

Guess a sniff check will be in order. Wish me luck 🤢

Look at it on the sand. That looks just like blue-green algae to me.
Seems too bright and too neon-like. It also looks thick and slimy. I have never seen bga like that if it is.
It looks weird

BGA is slimy and you can siphon it out in big sheets

I just had this stuff in both my 20 and my 40. Looked just like that.
