It's on the stem and some parts of the leaves, sort of hairy... but not really. Not sure what it is. It's only on my bacopa monnieri.. On the glass there's green algae, but I'm assuming that it's different.

Will nerite snails eat this kind of algae? I don't really want to introduce algae killing chemicals into my tank. Thanks!

Its Black Brush/Beard Algae, caused by fluctuating or low CO2, can be from doing water changes with lights on, using an air stone if low tech but if high tech then fluctuating levels from your CO2 system. Spot dosing Flourish Excel, AE Carbon etc will kill it off quick, just make sure you find the cause before killing it or it will return. :)

Oh, thanks. Probably fluctuating CO2 levels.. will nerite snails eat it? I don't want to go out and buy excel just to kill it, because I hear anacharis and possibly moneywort will die when treated with excel :/
