had this a few times, forget what its called, from over feeding fish and,,, cant remember the other thing :D ( i know your fish have gone now but maybe just maybe

I have read that that putting salt help eliminate them and clean your gravel with a Gravel Washer
hope it help

If it is that, then i wont bother... Im guessing today's just my day of bad luck... Ive also had a pH crash today, I did a water change and added some ammonia and my pH has been fine... Could any of that have caused it?

theyve probably been in there a while, but the fish kept eating them, now no fish they have multiplied.. dont worry they wont harm anything, i wouldnt interfer with the cycle just now, wait till you restock then if you dont like them clean the tank then- not the filter of course :)
my last oscar constantly had them, but i only ever noticed at water changes when they were washed about, but he was definatly over fed :D

No idea where theyve gone but there doesnt seem as many of them now... Edit: Polyester filter pads?

On the subject of oscars... My LFS got a pair in which are HUGE in like a redish colour in a tank with a foot long plec... Looked quite nice in there actually.

yeah try some, wont hurt.......... oh shame theyre so far away :(

Ive got polyester pads in already... I wondered if thats why there werent so many.

They did actually look quite healthy and they were actually being fed while i was there, even algae wafers for the plec.

Bare in mind this is the first time ive seen fish been fed there... ever.

they are probably hiding , lol im sure you`ll see them again, i have never seen fish being fed at a fish shop,so lucky you
