What Is Wrong With This Kid?!?!?!

plecos can never reach 18" in a home aquarium unelss you have like a 1000g aquarium. and yea i was thinking 55g is bigger than it is, its barly bigger than mine!

And you tested this I suppose? Do not assume.

That article was probably made to irk people.

hm.. thats a full tank indeed.

i wonder how the traffic is in there

no lol i didnt get that 1000 g thing from you. i just exagerated a bit. i got the part that they rarely get 18" in aquariums from you.

My Common Pleco (Liposarcus Pardalis) is 2 years old and has reached 14" (including tail). She is in a 65ukgal tank and will be in a bigger one next year. I think she is going to get bigger. :)

Commons have the potential to reach over 18' in large aquariums.A fish shop had 4 massive common plecos and a giant gourami, they must of been around 18' or over.I think they were all around 17 years old (as recently the giant gourami died and they announced that he was 17 years old).

yes potential, but the common length is 12-14" and they have the potential to reach 24"

At first you said that "plecos can never reach 18" in a home aquarium", and now you say that they have a potential to grow to 24 inches?

im giving my pleco to a store soon, just because i want new fish and dont want him sucking them to death :| ill feel bad that i am giving him away, but he is a poop machine, and is sucking the life out of my plants.. sigh, good bye hero<3

Why not in a home aquarium? We have a 20 inch one at my work and it's still growing slowly.
