Im going to discribe it the best way I can!

Ok, not to long ago I found out that my tank has the hard to see,(hair-thin) nematodes. So I did a aqua-vac on the tank today. Tonight before heading to bead, Looked in the tank to see my progress. Then I something caught my eye. At first I thought it was a piece of fish waste. It wasent very long in size, but I looked closer and it turned out to be some sort of worm. It was white in color and at each end of its short body was a little black dot(the head and rear) I guess.
It wasent like the nematodes that you have to actually strain your eye at, it was just big enough to catch my attention.
It may have been a little smaller than a maggot. I know I saw one at first floating and moments later (if not the same one)I saw one go up into the filter. So I have no idea if theres more than one.

Please let me know what these are, how to get rid of them, where they come from, and are they harmfull to me or my fish.
THANKS-!!!!!!!!!

Most likely Planaria.

They are commonly found in the aquarium but usually only seen in large numbers in a tank that has been overfed. They won't hurt anything unless your breeding egg-layers...I've read that they love to eat fish eggs. The best defense is to keep your tank clean and cut back on feeding.

Oh ok, I just wanted to know if they where a harm, because I think I remember reading in a science book about them being parisites and them feeding on blood.
Eanyway, I did a aqua change today, so when should I do it agin?
I need to work up a routine.
BTW,Thanks...
You've helped me so much!
