(Not sure if this would be better off in the rarer livebearer section, but anyway;)
...So the other day i was doing some fish shopping at one of my lfs's and i saw this livebearer in an assorted platy tank- i bought some of the platys including this guy (who is definately not a platy) as i thought it may be a guppyXmolly hybrid (a long time ago i saw a picture of a highly similar looking fish which was a guppyXmolly hybrid). But i know there are tons of livebearers out there, so i want a definate ID on this fish.
It looks similar in body shape to a molly, but its fins have a gold spotted pattern (like a leopard/snakeskin guppy), the leopard like gold spotting is not so obvious in the pics, its a lot more obvious in real life. He's definately a male livebearer, but he's trying to shag everything in the tank (molly, guppys, platys etc) and other than being very horny, he's very peaceful and not causing any problems at all- anyhoo, here's the pics;

Any idea's?
looks like limia nigrofasciatus. common name humpback limia
fish 48

Hmm, it does look like a humpback limia looking at some of the pics of them on google, but there seems to be an aweful lot of similar looking limia's. Does anyone have any good info pages on them they can share with details like how large they grow to?
edit: Ah i found one, does this page sound accurate;

http://badmanstropicalfish.com/stats/liveb...ebearers1h.html

??

EDIT: how rare are these fish in general in England or anywhere does anyone know? Looks like it could be difficult finding this guy some females...

I agrees with fish 48 with Limia nigrofasciatus

These are far from being common in the hobby, but some shop can order them in now and then.

There are also specilest auction's, next one in the uk in march 25th in near kettering area.
Or some auction sites have them know and then.

Or post in the on the rare section and u never know their may be a breeder here that has them.
