i know its an oscar but what? didnt look like anything in the tanks. he jumped out when the fish guy tried to net another for someone and got knocked out. my daughter rescued him and well now i have a tank just for him. no idea what exact species it is niether was the fish store.

Looks like an oscar to me...as you mentioned.

Luckily for you, oscars are an exact species .]

Pics not terribly clear, but it just looks like an albino one to me.

Looks like a fancy Oscar. Long fined albino. They have started to breed oscars with long fins and yours kind of looks like he might be one of them .

Yep a very young Oscar. Might be a long finned type but may be too small to tell, how big is he? They grow very quickly and if he is as small (3" or less?) as he looks then you'll see him double in size within about 2-3 months. Will hit 8" within 6 months with suitable water quality and feeding and 12"+ as an adult.

Hope you've got a huge tank! (glad you rescued him though)

about 2" right now. ive had oscars before so i know how they get. he is in a 30 by himself just need to work on the wife to get yet another big tank lol

The back fin looks very unporpotional to all of his other fins. He would look a lot better if the dorsal fin was longer as the back fin is.

What a different looking Oscar I have never seen one like that in any of the FS's i have been in. He is a good looking species of hybrid, Good luck with your new Oscar and hope u at least have a 55 gallon tank.
