I found these bugs in my plants when I dumped the bucket into my new tank. I thought I would float them in the tank and let them get some light while I am waiting for the substrate to get here. Then I noticed something very tiny moving on top of the water. When I got a closer look I could see tiny little bugs... bunches of them. I quickly put a solid glass over the tank to keep them from getting out and all over my house. Then I took pics of them. They are not very good because they are so small, but I did the best I could.

In one of the pics I held a q tip next to the tank to give you some idea how little they are.

Does anyone know what these might be?

What should I do about them?

Thanks for helping me.
Amanda

Are any of them attaching themselves to your fish.

Do spidars like in water?

Thanks. :good:

There are no fish in this tank. Just water and the hornwort thrown in.

If i were you, i'd get as most of them as i could, out.

better safe then sorry. :good: they might infest your house or something.

Ok.
I think you can get water spidars but not sure to be honest.
Your best bet is over in tropical discussion with the pics someone bound to know what they are.

If there daphnia there water fleas you could always feed them to your fish.

Will they get out of the tank and all over my house?
Do they do like regular fleas?

Think there different to household fleas,
Water fleas stay in the water I think.

These things are not down in the water. They are all either scooting across the top or on the sides of the tank above the water.
