Looks like something's clogging her birth canal. She probably has so many fry that it's hard to get them out.

Well I've found another 2 fry again this morning so my ground total is now 12 and she's still huge and she keeps hiding under the rocks. But for the last hour she's been swimming around the top of the tank.

It's getting to the point where I'm thinking does she need help ??? Obv there's nothing I can actually do but sit there and hope everything goes ok

It looks like a prolapse to me, and may well be why she is having so much trouble dropping her fry. I lost a wild type swordtail, an X. alvarezi, earlier this week to a prolapse in a female. Mine did not happen to be at the end of carrying her fry but the prolapse meant she could not expel her wastes and the end result was fatal to her.

She finally gave up 45 mins ago and I didnt notice until I've just read your post about not pooing and just clicked that I've not actually seen her poo
