I have some algae going in my 29gal freshwater community tank, its been doing nicely, except i am starting to notice some medium to heavy algae growth on my plants (plastic and silk, not real) I have a large piece of driftwood in the tank, and also a large porous rock with caves in it. Just wondering whats the best plan of action...

currently in the tank there are: 5 Zebra Danios, 4 Harlequin Raspboras, 2 albino corycats (very small 3/4 inch), 1 rainbowfish, 1 opaline guarami, and 1 angelfish (not sure of breed, wife picked it up), and a little yellow snail.

I have another 10 gal tank that i am changing over to a planted tank, and a 5gal hex thats currently planted. Could my 29gal handle a smaller plec? or should i do some rearranging to get more space in that tank?

any help would be greatly appreciated, I dont know a whole lot about plecos, and ive always gotten good answers here...

thanks,

Eli

For someone who is hust getting started with plecs, I wouldn't recommend otto's. IMO. It's just that I've heard even experienced plec keepers have trouble with them due to their sensitivity. Check the pinned article. 22 plecs under 8". :hey:
recommendation: Bristlenose pleco

another bristlenose fan here do the job and just great fish in general

I want a Bristlenose but I've never seen one in a pet store here, they must be more widely available in the UK rather than the US. Those Bulldog Plecs do look pretty cool too though. I'm also looking for one for my 29 Gal.
