I wasn't necessarily in need of a new plant. In fact I could have easily rearranged my scape to provide an dense spawning area for some diamonds I've had since they were fry. But I came across a plant

and fell in love with it and simply had to have it  There are enthusiasts who do the same but with tanks and have come up with a general consensus and diagnosed the problem as MTS - Multi Tank Syndrome. And I was wondering what (if any) we call those who can't stop buying plants particularly when they don't need them or even have space for the new plant?

Also as most of you probably already know, the plant pictured is fissidens fontanus/phoenix moss and I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on keeping it as I didn't do much research before the impulse buy.

Its an easy moss to keep, same as all mosses but grows quite fast with CO2 and full ferts.

MPS- multiple plant syndrome?

Is that the general term?

Hey steveo

I was reading that it's a very slow grower but I have a pressurized set up but my aquarium is capped soil and as a result I don't dose any ferts. Also because it's soil I don't gravel clean so do you think that the mulm and will be nutritious enough? Also, I haven't kept a moss of any type for some time so given the above conditions what would you say about the growth rate?

Nah, i just made it up ;) Feel free to start a trend :)

i buy plants even when i dont need them... and i love fissidens fontanus... but i thought phoenix moss was different? anyway. i found it grows slower than most moss's but its lovely (im in love with mine) best moss i have!

Your welcome Mike ;), it will grow faster but only under high light, CO2 and dosing full ferts, i don't think it will get much from your soil.
