maybe one of the livebearers. i don't have a good experience with them
all i have from livebearers is platies and i had no fry from them. if you know any fish from livebearers possibly or really EASY breeding egglayers. and if you have an advice please tell me the fish and the whole procedure of how to get them breeding!!!!! thanx in advance!!! :D
I have another ? if i decide to buy guppies and plan on breeding them , i heard that if they r not the same kind, babies will be colorless and i don't want that to happen.
So how am i going to know that if i buy a pair of guppies they are going to be the same kind and will have normal babies?????????????? :)

Livebearers are IMO the most prolific breeders in the fish world. If they don't breed then you probably have a water problem :lol.

But for non live-bearers, I have found Kribenses to be failrly easy to breed, and I have had limited success with kuhli loaches and Bristlenoses.

Just put the fish together, lower the lights, play some luuuurrrrrrrve music and bob's your uncle, unless the girlie fish has a headache of course, ;)

The fry will show no color, but as soon as they become older, their colors will start to show. If you mix 2 different colored guppies, then you will just get different colored babies. The males will, of course, be me colorful. The females may have some color, but more than likely, just plain, with splotches of some color. I have been breeding guppies and it's just exciting to see the colors that come out from mixed pairs.

guppies are by far the easyest to breed, but your platies may be getting eaten i have only ener found 1 baby in my main tank and i, pritty sure as soon as they are born SMACK there eaten by mother and all other fish. ther aer alsovery small aleast mine was.

happy breeding

I have seens sites saying angelfish are supposed to be hard to breed, but my angelfish have bred several times successfully, they are egglayers too.

Guppies are the easiest fish to breed. IMO.
Started with 3, ended up with 400+
Now that's easy to breed!

you know whats weird... at petsmart i never see baby guppies, the only thing i see are baby 'assorted cichlids'

My platy tank is heavily planted with java fern and the fry swim straight in as soon as they're born, I don't hear from them for a couple weeks and then out they come! What can I say...I love platys! With proper cover they are easy to breed.

I thought convict cichlids were the easiest?

I agree with gups, tho. Endlers are the worst at popping out fry like machine guns.

Cichlids....peacocks...most mbuna, fryeri....oh bah...most of them except for frontosa so far...lol....need a bit of Barry White and some slow dancing as well.
Helps to be naked too...... :hey:

Just as a side note, guppies used to be called "millions fish" or "missionary fish".

You take a guess as to why
