What Is An Endler?

i feel this is a bit of a stupid question but what is an endler?ive done a bit a research to find out but im a bit confused with different sites saying sort of different things or putting it in to different words if you get what i mean.all i want is for somebody to explain to me in a simple way what a endler is and how you get them, and maybe a little piccy as well. thanks for any info

I know there is a variety of tails, but not a split tail that I know of.

I have some tank bred endlers and they definately don't have split tails, maybe the misconception is because of the way the colours are placed on the tails (either on the top of the bottom of the tails no colour in the middle) ?

im not that confused well not any more, i just didnt know how to recognise a endler from a guppy.thx for all the replies
