what is this stuff.. its on my plants but mostly those that are not in the flow of my filter... this stuff was on the gravel in my tank awhile back before we added more and i always thought it was these compressed shrimp pellets that we use to feed our corys. but i dont see any on the gravel anymore but its all over my tall plant that goes from floor to top of the tank, and on the 2 plants surrounding it, and then we bough a small ceramic log that has plants attached to it (picture) and its all over that too, and it doesnt just brush off... and we JUST did a water change i believe last thursday so still have 3 days before we do another one.

oh and its on my heater too. (and REALLY think on the 3 plants 1 XL and 2 MED that are in the calm portion of my tank)

A better close up would help. Can you give a better description of it?

Are you adding any additives apart from dechlorinator to your tank?

What do you have in the filter?

Do you have any wood in the tank - is it on that?

well without a digital camera i probably cannot get a much better pic but i'll download a few more i took off my BB..

as i said we are using Wardley Shrimp Pellets formula they sink and then they expand. upon talking to my husband im almost sure this is what was all over my plants as i drop these pellets in the middle of my tank and he dropped a few into the corners (thus landing on plants) to feed our C.Sterbi

does anyone have any better food recommendations for my corys?? i was looking for some kind of sinking granual but couldnt find any in the stores i have available to me here. these pellets are MESSY.

My corys love simple algae wafers

I feed my cory's the same brand of shrimp pellets and they don't leave that all over my tank. Though I also have live bearers who love the stuff.
You say it doesn't wash off, I've had some left on my plants and it washes off easily, in fact it can be sucked out during a water change.
I could be wrong, all the fish in my tank love the shrimp pellets so they're never in the tank for longer than 5 minutes. Perhaps if they arent fully eaten then stick to decore, but I've never had the problem :/

But personally I don't believe it's the shrimp pellets.

well i conducted a little test tonight and it IS the shrimp pellets that are not being eaten. so either none of my shrimp like them or we over feed them. the second is out of the question as i only give a few at a time like 5 pellets cuz i only have 6 corys and when the pellets swell up and open theres alot of food there, my livebearers dont even look at them, they have flakes i feed them.

so im going with none of my fish like them/ AND that my lovely husband overfed them thats why they were suddenly all over my plants so after a quick clean hopefully we dont have this problem anymore.
