Yesterday I found one of my Bettas with a white coat of something on here. When I looked closer it was like her skin was pealing off in white chunks. She also rested on the plants near the surface. She would do this weird thing where she would like zoom across the surface of the water. I'm not sure how to explain it, like she got a burst of energy.. A few hours later she died. I couldn't really find anything online about it, but I thought it might be velvet. So I picked up some parasite medicine but that didn't work. Now other fish has something similar. On her face it looks like skin coming off. She also won't eat anything. Does anyone know what this is?

PS: I did have them in a sorority, which I will no longer be doing. I know it's stresses them. I just need to know what the illness is.

If you need more pictures let me know.

Thanks so much.

You may want to post this on the emergency section. More people are likely to see it faster. Though these questions need to be answered.

Hownis your water quality and parameters? This includes ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph, gh, kh. Temperature? Water change schedule? Size of tank? What's in the tank? Filter? All of this information and anything else you may have(there is a link on the emergency board that has more questions too about posting there) will be very very helpful.

Thank you! I will post there.

Ok, never heard about that.
It seems to work against the parasites I was thinking of ichthyobodo / trichodina.
Only thing that puzzles me is it "reduces" those and not "kills" them.

I don't think it's even reduced it. My Betta is much worse today. I don't think she'll make it.
