OMG!! i changed my little girls betta to a new tank, and now hes not looking happy at all, hes floating about,or sitting at the surface
i turned the filter on but he was just blown around, i added an airstone but again it jjust blew him away :( so ive turned it all off now,
the water is the same water he had in his old tank, the water stats are spot on
oh i have no idea what else to do

is there a setting on it? Bettas dont like moving water anyway, so i suppose it will be ok! Maybe a plant will help? Anyone else? im not 100% sure

no but to be honest its only just powerful enough to work the filter on the biorb, the other have settins but are still too much.
just going to check on him

hes laying on the floor gasping

Hi shelagh try blacking out the tank with a tea towel or something for a few hours that should help if he is stressed (as you will know anyway) keep everything switched off but i would keep the airstone on just clamp the airline abit so there isn't as much bubbles going in and just keep an eye on him he might be just abit stressed and pissed off that you moved him lol

Is he/she lethargic/listless? Look a lot like when my mollys had ammonia/nitrite poisoning.

Also looks like aerosols have been sprayed near the tank - possibility?

Get him out into a container hun with some clean warm dechlor water in it - keep it dark

empty the tank completly and rinse around with hot water - then refil with clean warm water again - could have been a chemical left in the tank or got on there somehow - seems like water trouble - not ammonia etc but a poisoning of some sort

DO that right away hun

then add him back - tank water depth only 2 " keep him in the dark again and see what hes like tomorrow

thanks jay, theres no light on it filter is off, just dug out an interpet mini air pump, which seems just righ, his fins are still flapping, ill chuck a towel over him now.

OK pip, on to it

awwww hun you cant - he sounds like he was on his way out hun - sometimes they have heart problems due to being highly bred --- so sorry babes ((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))

Oh Shelagh nooooo....

It's bad enough when it's our fish but when it's the kids it's worse somehow.

How awful :(
