What Has Happend To My Big Catfish!?!

can anybody please tell me what the hell is wrong with my feather fin?
it has these white patches blotted all over its body and fins, they seem to have come out of nowhere!?!?

would it of had anything to do with the whitespot treatment i put in the tank the other week??
im just worried about it, and wether or not its contageous to the rest of the fish!?

whitespot is small pimple like things, ive had that before,
these patches are big

nah it isnt whitespot, i just want to no what it is to i can try and cure

i dont know if its wrong or not but if somethings wrong in our tank my partner puts in meth blue haha, it keeps things at bay, if that doesnt work after 4 days (and hes still alive) it find some anti virul fluids for him and possibly cover the tank in darkness for a couple of days, think someone told me that becasue most bacteria needs light to thrive cutting its source will kill it?
i may on the other hand be COMPLETLY talking outta my rear but thats what i would do ... maybe the meth and the darkness to gether, your plants REALLY will hate you but your catfish if it works will love you ... plus il feel brilliant haha
