I put the venturi on, I think I've scared the bejeezers out of the fish LOL. Its meant to spray bubbles everywhere right?

Yes, lol, sorry, if the bubbles splash out onto the light fittings drop the water level.

i don't want to sound depressing or anything but that happend to mine it spread over the fish and the fish consequently died i hope for you this isn't the case with yours

Well I think I'm gonna lsoe Freddie, I just checked on him and the scales on his front half ahve merged to look like skin and the back half have risen up and it sorta looks like dropsy just not as bad

There nothing to be done now he's in a bad way, to be honest the best thing to do is end his misery, sorry.

Too late for that, just looked over to see kelvin my rainbow shark trying to eat his bristles, Freddie hates Kelvin, never lets him near him.

Bugger it Bugger it, just checked the fish all over and of course one of my dwarf gouramis is missing a scale showing a patch of skin coloured flesh, no fungusy stuff though. I've quarantined both gouramis, as if one gets something the other always does

It looks like an ulcer, oval shape dipping in, but only about 1mm in diameter

Edit- in teh spirit of Hope I just remembered this particular gourami got himself stuck behind a betta barracks not long ago, because of the colour of the gourami its almost impossible to see the sore without microscopic inspection, perhaps I just missed it first time round? Theres no red bits and no white bits just plain sorta human skin colour , still tryin to get a pic LOL

I hate pics they sometimes can be deceiving.
Gouramis are more prone to the bacterial side, and it looks abit pinkish with a border of white is this true.
Do any of the fish flick and rub on things in the tank.

LOl I can barely see it on him either LOl.

No no one's flicking on rubbing on things.

The sores a plain flesh colour, completely smooth, no rims at all, it's a lot like a spot that just dosn't ahve scales. With Freddy it was easy to tell but the gouramis are uckle and so is this LOL.

BUt it does have a slight colour change, teh side closer to the eye is slightly darker then the side further from the eye.

I would carry on with the bacterial med for another week to see how things go.

Okies I can do that, and just cross my fingers and hope my shark and molly dont get it

Lift the lid of the tank and smell the water, get back to the board what it smells like, as bad bacteria infections you can smell it.

Smells like warm muggy water, no sulfur or rotten egg smells
