when i was a kid i used to love going to my local garden centre.i would just stand there looking at all the beautiful fish and dreaming of owning some one day.my parents were not keen on keeping fish so i never got a chance of owning any.when i turned 20 i started researching all about them and what it involves in keeping them.i kept hinting to my husband that i wanted a fish tank and one day he agreed.i was sooo happy :D :yahoo:
and from then on i have loved every minute of it.i just cannot live with out fish in my house anymore :) i feel its just a rewarding and enjoyable hobby.

When i was a child (about 5), my mum & dad used to have a tropical tank 4ft with cardinal tetras, that's all i can remember about the fish species, but i do remember being fascinated with them and they way they used to swim around the tank in a shoal. Then when i was a bit older (9 or 10), we got a cold water tank because my dad had taken us to the fair and won a fish on one of the stalls there, so we had a hexagonal tank which we had a for a number of years and eventually the fish we had won at the fair ended up in our pond outside where it grew huge.
When i got married 6 years ago, i had a tank given to me, a small hexagonal one, which bought back memories of the fish at home, so decided to start up tropical fish keeping again and after upgrading the tank a couple more times i now have a 180litre bow fronted tank which i had been wanting for a while. HAPPY DAYS! :D

I think it started when i gt a 20L i put a commit and a boggle eyed goldfish thing in it ( didn't know any better ) after awhile i upgraded to 30L and put white clouds and rosy barbs in it. i thought they were awesome. I eventually got my dad to buy me a 90L tank i had been eyeing off for awhile and it gt better from there :)

My dad had a 4 foot tank when i was a youngster and i was fascinated by it.
Fast forward 20 years and my local Pets At Home were selling 30L 'Starter tanks' for £75.. so i bought one. Then proceeded to carry out EVERY wrong action with cycling (or lack of it), stocking, feeding and water changing... found this forum, read and researched, bought a 125L with external filter, caught the bug and haven't looked back!!!!

Terry.
