I currently feed NLS pellets in the morning and a malawi mix flake in the evening.

I've been looking into brine shrimp, I know blood worm is meant to be bad but would brine shrimp be ok?

How often if ever should I feed, once a week? Or is there a better type of food to supplement.

The fish are all quite young at the moment. About 1-2" long.

Cheers

Vicki

If you are already feeding flake and NLS then you dont really need to feed them brine shrimp as well. However, if you do decide to it should only be once every few weeks.
- Remeber to make sure it is completely defrosted as you dont want one fish eating a whole chunk and getting bloat.

Peas are quite a good idea as well.

If they're mbuna I feed mine canned green beans once weekly, for that matter even the peacocks eat a bit too. I actually toss in the veggies for the benefit of the BN pleco's that occupy just about every tank now, but the cichlids eat some too. The NLS pellets are their staple diet, occasionally spirulina flake, and they all thrive on that.

Brine shrimp are one of the best foods fry and i feed them heavily, i have got about 60 apisto fry now and thrive on it there colours are some of the best i have seen (plenty of pics on here to disbute it :p) brine shrimp are very easy to hatch and i even did a DIY thread on here on how to make them. Blood worms i only feed once every week maybe two :good:
