What Fish?

Thanks Miss Wiggle and Cane.
It is the Rena 150 x 70 x 50. It cost us £795 which we finally paid off last week!
Miss Wiggle - We now have the marine tank but I can't post pictures yet as the room looks like a dumping ground! Spent the last few days decorating and now have the wonderful task of sorting through junk we've accumulated over the last few years

imo that tank is crying out for some bigger fish than barbs :p :D
I know!!!
The tank is mainly for Plecos and Catfish. My other half is dead set on Barbs after seeing them at Bournemouth Oceanarium.
I love your tank and if we had the room I'd quite happily set one up like it!

Going back to your original post you would have no problems at all getting Tiger Barbs. Their reputation is a little misleading IMO. If you buy a group of at least 6, preferably more 10-15 being perfect and would certainly fit in either of those 2 tanks once you sort your fish into the bigger tanks, even the 40gal. If you do decide on them they would look amazing as 5xGreen 5xTiger and 5xAlbino, or more if you are putting them in the bigger tanks and want more. Once they are in a comfortable school they don't bother any other fish they are always way too occupied with their own squabbles, but they do look amazing. BTW the 3 different types mentioned will all school together.

how about a shoal of congo tetras or lake katubu rainbowfish, both of them grow a good size and develop stunning colours once settled

ha ha i know the feeling, we spent last weekend putting a new ring of sockets in the bedroom, it still looks like a complete dumping ground, cos Ian still has the plastering to finish off the furniture's still pushed into the middle of the room and I can't get around properly to clean the floor so it's still covered in brick dust. it's not a bedroom, at present it's just a room with a bed in it

You can't beat a bit of brick dust can you?
Our downstairs is all open plan so it all became a tip. Everything got shoved into the living room and the kitchen became "home" to tools, paint, paste etc. My poor kids decided to hide upstairs, probably had the right idea!

yeah we ended up with everything shoved into the bathroom so you had to fight your way to get through to teh toilet, then the cats started playing in there and i accidentaly shut one of them in there for a few hrs

cos i can't get the bedroom clean the rest of the house is filthy too cos it all gets trodden through, i keep trying to clean but I just can't get around all the furniture

ah well, Ian's finishing off in there this weekend so monday and probably tuesday i will be scrubbing the whole house :D
