What Fish Is This?

when i went to my lfs yesterday i saw a long black fish and its tail went to a point.it was white on the end and the fins underneath were kind of rippling.

never mind i just found out its a ghost knife fish? anyone have one of these are they good community fish?

Not really.

Quite a few people seem to keep black ghost knife fish (BGK) on here and I'm sure they'll be able to tell you more, but

1) they get huge (about a foot?) so need lots of room
2) they spend most of their time hiding
3) they CAN be mixed with other fish but you'd need a seriously massive tank
4) they will most likely eat or suck the eyes out of smaller fish
5) they're most often aggressive to other knife fish as well

Agreed.
I hear their really aggressive, and you need quite a large tank because they get massive.
