Hi, I have a 70 litre Juewl tank with built in internal filter. Right now I have 7 x-ray tetras which have been in there for 5 days now. I am thinking of buying some more fish this weekend.
How many fish can I add? I am looking for something different from Tetras so I can add a bit of variety and colour. I know I havent got much space to play with.
Thanks

Hi :good:

Firstly, have you a test kit and if so what are your current ammonia/nitrite/nitrate levels?

Also, how long has your setup been running?

Hi. I am guessing you successfully fishless cycled your tank (ie had a nitrite spike) and your stats are now holding as you stated since adding your current stock 5 days ago.

If yes to all the above then you are ready for more fish......but in smallish batches

70 litres = 15 and a bit gallons = 15 inches of fish at adult size. (A very rough guide)

7 tetras means you are half way done

Small quiet stuff.. Harlequine Rasboras, Platy come in all colours, Pigmy Corys, 'Ottos (Not all of them, just choices :shifty: )

As you mentioned though, you don't have too much space to play with and most small stuff are shoaling fish so you need to get 4-6 of them.

Mind you, if there have been no fish in there then ammonia and nitrite will equal zero and nitrate @ 20ppm definate poss from the tap!

Just checking.... you did cycle the filters by using regular drops of ammonia didn't you?
